Dr V K Jain is the Senior Director of Neurosurgery and Spine Surgery at Max Hospitals Delhi and NCR.

Academics

He completed his MBBS from King George’s Medical College, Lucknow in the year 1974 and did his MCh in Neurosurgery from the prestigious National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) Bangalore. Dr. Jain did Fellowship in Micro-neurosurgery from Fujita Health University, Nagoya, Japan.

This has not only added to his expertise but has provided him with vital exposure in the field. He has more than 30 years of experience in the field of Neurosurgery. He has worked in prominent hospitals in India like NIMHANS Bangalore and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Delhi.

He has also worked as a visiting professor at various prominent hospitals abroad. This has helped him hone his skills in medicine and Neurosurgery. He has also guided several students on their theses and dissertations.

Dr V K Jain has also held administrative positions at SGPGIMS, Lucknow where he was the Head of the Department of Neurosurgery. He was also in charge of the Hospital Administration and the Chairman of Campus Development Committee.

He is often invited to chair scientific sessions and to deliver lectures around the globe.

Contribution To Medical Literature

Dr Jain has many publications to his credit. This includes books, journals, magazines and abstracts. His book- “Craniovertebral Junction Anomalies – The Indian Experience“, was published in 1997 and still serves as a useful guide to the medical world. His views on Neurology and Neurosurgery have appeared in many national and international prominent journals like Surgical Neurology, Journal of Neurosurgery, Neurology India, Indian Journal of Neurotrauma. His views have also appeared as chapters in books.

Dr. Jain is a very reputed and well respected figure in the medical world due to his years of service and experience. However, he is mostly respected for the individual that he is and as he makes himself available to his patients in spite of his busy schedule.
